On the afternoon of October 20th, 2025, Professor Mohammad from United Arab Emirates University was invited to deliver an academic report entitled Application of Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy in Photocatalysis at our college. Teachers and graduate students engaged in relevant research fields of the college attended the report, which was hosted by Liu Yang, a teacher from the Department of Applied Physics of the college.

Professor Mohammad systematically introduced the application background and working principle of ultrafast laser spectroscopy. He focused on elaborating the latest research progress of his team — by using femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy (fs-TA) and femtosecond transient infrared spectroscopy (fs-TRIR), the team has clarified the electron transfer pathways and the underlying photophysical mechanisms in quantum dot and MOFs systems. This research provides important theoretical guidance for the development and design of new photocatalytic materials.

After the report, teachers and students of our college had in-depth discussions and exchanges with Professor Mohammad, further deepening the understanding of the frontier issues in the field of ultrafast laser spectroscopy and photocatalysis.
