In order to broaden students’ international horizons, enhance their scientific research literacy, and respond to the school’s “Global Vision · Building the Future” International Education Week series of events, the School of Optoelectronic Engineering recently brought a series of overseas study career planning and study abroad experience sharing sessions to the students. Drs. Li Jie, He Yu, Wang Xiao, Liu Yang, and other newly-admitted doctors from the college shared their international exchange experiences as the main speakers.
Dr. Li Jie provided students with basic knowledge about the organization, participation process, and precautions for international academic conferences; Dr. He Yu gave a detailed introduction to information collection during the study abroad application process and shared important content based on his own experience; Dr. Wang Xiao introduced the China Scholarship Council (CSC) sponsored study abroad program and application matters, sharing her own exchange study experience; Dr. Liu Yang shared his personal experience and insights on study abroad career planning with the students.
The students unanimously said that they had gained a lot from the event, gaining a deeper understanding of international academic conferences, studying abroad, and other forms of international exchange, and their interest in scientific research was also further enhanced. The college expects to inspire students’ enthusiasm for learning through such sharing sessions, laying a solid foundation for cultivating research talents with international competitiveness.
